Download the Houston Area Comprehensive HIV Prevention and Care Services Plan for 2012 through 2014

The plan is the first joint HIV prevention and care plan presented as a single, comprehensive document. It is the product of a comprehensive planning process that included the Houston Area HIV Prevention Planning Group, Houston Area HIV Services Ryan White Planning Council, and over 100 other individuals and agencies in the Houston area. The integrated planning process was designed to consider national system changes; sought to ensure that the resulting document would be in alignment with the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (as well as with other federal plans and statewide efforts) and be inclusive of the Houston Area iterations of the national acceleration initiatives ECHPP (Enhanced Comprehensive HIV Prevention Planning) and EIIHA (Early Identification of Individuals with HIV/AIDS).

Health Department

The Houston HIV Prevention Community Planning Group (HHCPG) consists of up to 35 members who provide input into the process of prioritizing at-risk populations in Houston and make recommendations to the health department about the distribution of prevention funds. The Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) and the HHCPG work together to develop an effective and comprehensive plan for HIV prevention. HDHHS uses the plan as the foundation for resource and program allocation decisions about HIV prevention. HHCPG’s policy and procedures manual.
